Allison James Wallace, a dedicated servant and passionate community member, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025, in Santee, CA. Born on November 3, 1944, Jim led a life filled with a myriad of experiences and achievements, leaving an indelible mark on those who knew him.
Jim’s career was characterized by his commitment to service. He started strong, joining the Navy right out of high school, where he proudly served during the Vietnam War. This early dedication to his country set the tone for a life devoted to public service. Following his military service, Jim took on various roles that included working as a deputy sheriff, a city bus driver, and a long haul truck driver. His greatest professional achievement was receiving the prestigious million-mile award for his exceptional skills and safety in long-haul trucking.
In 2009, Jim decided to retire at the age of 65 when his vision began to decline. However, his desire to contribute to the community did not wane. He found fulfillment as a volunteer at the Puyallup Food Bank, where he continued to drive their truck, helping those in need with unwavering enthusiasm.
An active veteran, Jim became a proud member of several organizations, including the VFW Post 22, Fleet Reserve Branch 104, and the American Legion Post 67. He cherished the time spent attending meetings, events, and ceremonies, finding joy and camaraderie in his fellow veterans and community members.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Diana, his daughter, Joy, along with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His family will remember his generous spirit, commitment to service, and the love he shared with them throughout his life.
As we celebrate the life of Allison James Wallace, we honor a man who not only excelled in his diverse careers but also embraced the joy of giving back to his community and country. His legacy of service and love will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
