It is with profound sadness that the family of Amine Nassif announce his peaceful passing on March 04,
2023 in San Diego, CA at age 86 after a brief illness. He was born in Aramoun, Lebanon on 23 March
1936 to Esber Nassif and Cecelia Khoury Nassif. He immigrated to the US in 1953 to finish his
engineering studies in Texas and returned to Beirut to teach at different schools and universities.
He moved back to the US in 1989 with his family and made Roanoke then Richmond, VA his home to be
close to his brother Farid Nassif and Odette Nassif Karim and their respective families. He ultimately
retired in San Diego, CA in 2010.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Rosette and his brother Farid. He is survived by his wife
Leila Dib Nassif, his two daughters Lana Bargoud (Gerard) and Dina Nassar (Mark), his four
grandchildren, Mia and Talia Bargoud and Christian and Nicholas Nassar, his sister Odette Nassif Karim
(Halim) and many nieces and nephews.
Amine was a very proud Lebanese man with an immense love for the Arabic language. He spent the
majority of his time reading and writing poetry. He was a loving father and grandfather who will be
missed by many.
The family wishes to send many thanks to all of our friends and extended family from across many US
states as well as many countries specifically Lebanon, Egypt, UK, France and Australia for their
sympathies and support during these times of grief.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 am on Friday March 10th at St Ephrem Maronite Catholic Church in El
Cajon, CA (750 Medford St) followed by Internment at 11:30 am at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in San
Diego, CA (4470 Hilltop Dr).
