Benton Richard Coulter

Benton Richard Coulter, Jr (Rick) went to Heaven on August 9, 2023, after a long battle with Alzheimer's.  He was 78 years old.

Rick was born in Coatesville, PA on December 8, 1944.  He graduated froma Horace Scott Senior High in Coastesville in 1964.  He joined the Marine Corps in 1969 and was sent to Camp Pendleton, CA.  That's when he met Karen, the love of his life.  They were married for 50 years and had 2 children together.

He joined the San Diego Police Department in 1974 where he retired from in 2003, as a detective.  While working full time, he was able to get his BA degree at National University in San Diego.

Rick loved his family.  He was predeceased by his parents, Benton and Kathryn Coulter, and his sister, JoAnn Walton.  He leaves behind his brother, Robert Coulter, his wife, Karen, and his 3 daughters, Amy and Kari Coulter, and Jill Reichert.

He loved being a Marine and a Police Officer.  Also, he loved hiking, flying, dancing, and vacationing.

He was active at Shadow Mountain Church for many years.  One of his fond memories was getting baptized in the Jordan River in Israel.
