Betty Ann Evans

Betty Ann (Peterson) Evans, age 79, passed away on Friday February 21st, 2020 at home in San Diego, California. Betty was born on January 27, 1941 in Jamestown, North Dakota. She started working for Pacific Bell in her early 20’s, then retired in her early 50’s. After her retirement, in 2001, Betty moved to Flagstaff, Arizona, then in 2012, she moved back in with her brother in San Diego, California.

Betty enjoyed many activities including gardening, crocheting, hanging out with her friends, and exploring San Diego. Throughout the years, she crocheted blankets for everyone, and continued to make hats, baby accessories, and dish rags. She loved when her daughters, granddaughters, and great grandson would go visit her in San Diego. She was known as GiGi B to Drake, Ethan, Alexander and many others. She loved being a great grandma to them. She loved going to Dave and Busters, Home Depot for plants, visiting Mission Bay, and loved eating at Tio Leo’s. Betty also enjoyed going to lunch with her childhood friends and talking for hours.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Gertrude Peterson; her brother, Edward Peterson Jr; and her friends Alice and Dories from “Our Gang ’59.” She is loved and survived by her two daughters, Cheryl Martin and Charlene Rowe; her two granddaughters, Mercedes and Ariana Martin; her great-grandson, Drake Carbajal (Sir Drake); her brother, Robert Peterson; her son-in-law, Neman Rowe; her cats Fannie Mei and Sophie; her childhood friends from Our Gang ’59, Pat, Chris, Evelyn, Andrea “Andy”, Delia, Esther, Betty, and Leslie; and nieces and nephews.
