Carol MaryAnn Laubacher was born to Mary C. (Zinno) Brown and U. S. Navy CPO Jack E.
Brown on May 8, 1950 in Fresno, CA. She graduated from Sherman E. Burroughs High School
in Ridgecrest, CA in 1968 and received her Bachelors Degree from The University of San Diego
in 1972. She married George Laubacher on January 14, 1973. After she earned her California
Teacher’s Credential, she taught for 5 years the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School in
Lakeside, CA. Taking a break from teaching, she and her husband became parents to two active
sons. She returned to teaching through the Grossmont Adult School where she and her constant
companion, the intrepid Mr. Alligator, taught Effective Parenting (mommy – and – me) classes
for over 20 years. Later she became a substitute teacher for the Alpine, Santee and Cajon Valley
School districts and the Diocese of San Diego. In addition to regular substitute assignments, she
completed long term substitute teaching assignments for the Alpine and Santee districts as well
as for Our Lady of Grace and St. Columba Catholic schools.

Carol died on December 14, 2019 at Sharp Coronado Hospital after a brief, sudden and
devastating illness. She leaves behind her husband of 47 years, George, her 2 sons Matthew
(married to Jackie) and Joshua (married to Roxanne) and 5 grandsons: A.J., Dominick, Marcus,
Michael and Griffin.

Funeral services will be Friday January 10, 2020 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 9310
Dalehurst Road, Santee, CA 92071. A private interment will follow.
