Walters, during the height of the Great Depression and continuing through the Second World War. As a child, Carolyn enjoyed her family, horses, dogs, and playing tennis while living in East County. After graduating Grossmont High School, Carolyn earned a bachelor's degree in English and became a second-grade schoolteacher in San Jose, California. Later, she went on to earn a master's degree in library science and worked as a librarian. Carolyn met Bill Fausset at bible school and they married in December of 1957. Carolyn was a devout Christian; her faith and church attendance guided her life. Carolyn loved nature, wildlife, classical music, writing poetry, and was a voracious reader. Carolyn had a wonderfully friendly demeaner and a smile that was infectious to everyone around her. She could find humor in the smallest things and was sure to share it with everyone.
