Carolyn Ann Stanko

Carolyn Stanko, age 85, of Lakeside, CA passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023, after a brief illness. She was born in Kane, Pennsylvania on July 2, 1938, to Esther and Medford Champlin. Carolyn graduated from Kane Area High School. In 1958, Carolyn married William “Bill” L. Hultman. Together they had three sons. The couple divorced in 1964. Carolyn dedicated her life to providing for her children and worked tirelessly in various jobs over the years. Despite any challenges that came her way, Carolyn always put her sons' needs first and ensured they had the best possible upbringing. In 1980 Carolyn married John Stanko and enjoyed a long marriage until John’s passing in 2006.

She is survived by her sons William “Bill” Hultman (Lisa), Steven Hultman (Beth), Medford Hultman; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving is an extended stepfamily. Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents and husband John.

Carolyn relocated to Lakeside, CA in 2015 to be closer to Bill and Medford and their families. Carolyn was an active member at Lakeside Community Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon and volunteered with the Prayer Quilt Ministry and Vacation Bible School. An avid cat lover, Carolyn also left behind her cherished cat, Jet, who is settling in with Bill and Lisa.

In this time of profound loss, let us remember Carolyn for the extraordinary woman she was—a devoted mother who defied obstacles, and a gentle soul who touched the lives of many. She will be missed greatly
