Cecelia A. Dueber

Cecelia A. Dueber, beloved sister, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 7, 2021. She was 99 years old. Cecelia, born in Hettinger, North Dakota, was the oldest of ten children and always put her family and faith first. After receiving her nursing degree, she moved to California in 1943 where she met the love of her life, Fredrick Dueber. They lived in San Diego and La Mesa where they raised their two daughters, Celeste and Gwendolyn. Cecelia and Fred celebrated 68 years of marriage.
Cecelia worked for the County of San Diego and for the UC San Diego health system for over 30 years. She also took care of several friends and neighbors over the years. She was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Church and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. Knitting, crocheting, and playing cards were a few of her favorite hobbies. Cecelia’s generosity of time, talent, and treasure was a gift to many.
She is reunited in heaven with her husband, Fredrick Dueber, and daughter, Celeste Dueber. Cecelia’s survivors include her daughter Gwendolyn Biggi (Steve), three grandchildren: Wendy Gibbons (Tim), Craig Biggi (Patricia), and Alan Biggi (Molly), six great-grandchildren: Caitlin Hendricks, TJ Gibbons, Brooke Gibbons, Nicole Biggi, Daniella Biggi and Nora Biggi, a step-great-granddaughter, Lindsey Gibbons, her sisters and brother and many nieces and nephews.
A mass at Blessed Sacrament Church and memorial will be held at a future date.
