Celestine Emily Gulino

Celestine “Chris” (Sargent) Gulino – April 26, 1927 – June 27, 2023; La Mesa, California

Celestine (Chris) Gulino went to be with the Lord and loved ones on Tuesday June 27, 2023 after a brief
illness. She is predeceased by her husband of 72 years, John Gulino, her son James Gulino and her
brother Weston Sargent. She is survived by her son John Gulino (Sylvia), six grandchildren, six great
grandchildren, and one great-great grandson as well as her special friend Fred Knight.

Chris worked for Montgomery Ward from 1951 – 1986, then Lesko Financial for six years and would
return to train new hires until she was 75 years old. Additionally, Chris helped John with the books for
their hardware store. She was very social and active in the community including the Elks Club, the Lions
Club and American Legion, volunteer for the Kirkwood (NY) Historical Society, Golf Leagues and more.
After moving to La Mesa, CA five years ago, Chris made many new friends at Grossmont Gardens and
continued to enjoy social activities with them, remaining young at heart, in mind, and in ability. She was
well loved by all who knew her and she will be missed dearly.

There will be no formal services. She is to be interred with her husband in Vestal, NY.
