Charles Ray Bras

Charles Ray Bras born on Nov 19, 1933 to Charles and Doris Bras in Okemah, OK passed away on August 15, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother Mack and wife Julie of 59 years. He is survived by an older brother Jack, 3 daughters and 7 grandchildren.

He passed peacefully after a full life and career. He graduated from Fresno High school in 1951, then attended UC Berkeley where he attained a degree in civil engineering. He then served in the Navy before starting his career working in a number of Public Agencies including the position of the director of Public Works for the Cities of La Mesa and Vista.

He was very civic minded, being a lifetime member and past president of Lions club, past president of the San Diego Friendship Force twice and past president of ITE San Diego and AWPA San Diego, both engineering associations. He was an active member of his church for over 50 years. Charles enjoyed working on old cars, researching his genealogy, and traveling all over the world.
