Chery Ann Zimmerman of Rancho Penasquitos peacefully passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at
Sharp Parkview Hospice after a sudden, brief illness. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, to David and Gertrude
(Anderson) Nesbitt, Cheryl graduated from Trumbull Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1974. A
Registered Nurse for 47 years, she especially loved her time in pediatrics and most recently served Sharp
Healthcare for 17 years as a referral nurse, one of the voices of Sharp at 1-800-82-SHARP.

Exuding a giving and caring heart, Cheryl was a faithful Christian servant. Her cherished family and
friends will remember her countless acts of kindness and her famous, delicious and gorgeously
decorated sugar cookies. Mrs. Zimmerman will also be remembered in her community for her dedicated
service as a band booster, key band mom, and the uniform manager of the Mt. Carmel High School
Marching Sundevils throughout the 1990s.

Cheryl is survived by her spouse of 49 years, Paul; daughter Heidi Reid of Murrieta, CA and her husband,
David; daughter Mary Woitkoski of San Diego, CA and her husband Michael; daughter Amanda Kelly-
Cochrane of San Diego, CA and her husband Christopher; her grandchildren Trevor and Cara Reid, John
Kelly-Cochrane and Joseph Woitkoski; and brother Jesse Nesbitt and his wife Sue. She was preceded in
death by her sister Lynn Hall.

A small graveside service will be held at Dearborn Memorial Park in Poway, CA on Monday, March 29,
2021 at 1:00 p.m. at 14361 Tierra Bonita Rd., Poway, CA 92064.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Cheryl’s memory to her favorite charity for helping children,
Ronald McDonald House Charities.
