Christopher William Vanstrom

Christopher William Vanstrom, born October 8th, 1971 passed away peacefully on September 18th, 2024 at the age of 52 in San Diego, CA.

Chris is survived by his loving wife, Cristi (Lessig) Vanstrom, of 24 years, two sons, Christopher Caleb (Naileth) Vanstrom, Patrick (Angela) Vanstrom, two grandchildren, Elias and Josi, and brother Eric (Shelley) Vanstrom.

He was born in Kansas to Chuck and Vicki Vanstrom and spent his childhood with Aunt Jeri Chambers, cousins Kym Scearce-Schenck, Trent Allen, Ty Allen and best friend Shawn Harris. Later, he moved to Denver where he met his wife Cristi.

Chris worked in real estate for many years including owning his own real estate business, Colorado Homes, LLC. After moving to San Diego in 2007, he attended San Diego State University where he graduated magna cum laude in 2013 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems. After college, Chris worked for Sony PlayStation for several years.

A fierce lifelong Broncos fan, he loved watching football. He also enjoyed carving pumpkins and dressing up for Halloween and setting up his Christmas Village during the holidays. Chris was an avid animal lover and enjoyed walking his dogs and spending time with his cats. Chris traveled often and loved experiencing the world around him.

Even though life throws challenges at all of us, Chris never let things interfere with the man he chose to be. He invested time as a husband, a father, a friend, and a worker. He was passionate in all he did. It was impressive to watch Chris own his time on this Earth. The world was a better place with Chris and he will be missed. 

Visitation will be held Saturday, September 28th, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM with a service at 12:00 PM.
