On December 16, 2015, Dale passed away peacefully at home in hospice care. Dale was born September 1, 1942 in Lincoln, NE,
Dale graduated from Holdrege HS with the class of 1960, attended Westmar College in 1960 in LeMars, Iowa, and enlisted in the US Army, June 14, 1961 through August, 1969, where he proudly served his country while stationed in the Infantry in Wildflecken, Berlin; Gelnhausen, Mannheim-Kaferetal, formerly West Germany; and 15 months in Vietnam with the First Airmobile) Cavalry Division.
Upon completion of his military service, Dale was employed at Becton-Dickinson in Holdrege, NE, He attained his BS degree at Kearney, NE in Comprehensive Business. In 1984, he was promoted to Manager of World Wide Home Health Care Logistics & Manufacturing Support, B-D Consumer Products, Franklin Lakes, NJ, where he considered his staff as the A team.
In 1999, after 30 years at B-D, Dale retired to sunny Southern California, where he didn’t have to shovel snow. He enjoyed visiting the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park, where he worked as a VOA for one year, and he still supported all the good deeds towards the San Diego Zoological Society now and for the future.
Dale leaves to mourn his loving wife and best friend, Patricia Carter, San Marcos, CA, talented and beautiful daughter, Karla Carter, who shared his sense of humor and strength, his loving grandson, Gabriel Truesdale, and his very caring future son-in-law, Wouter Bollen, all of Lincoln, NE, as well as our Siamese cat, Chadwick. Dale also leaves to mourn his brother, David Carter, and sister-in-law, Ramona Carter, Centerville, Iowa, his caring sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law, Mary and Sid Hammond and family, Rose Anderson, Bill and Jean Beiriger, Holdrege, NE, plus nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, caring cousins, close friends, and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ora and Maurine Carter and Lavern and Marie Beiriger.
Dale will be remembered for his witty sense of humor, his many jokes and stories, assisting others in his talent for figuring out solutions and building projects, his walks about the community and malls in his named Nitro Glycerin rollator, our day trippers, and his email friends. Into heaven, into peace, he will forever fly among the angels.
