David Lee Ausderan

David Lee Ausderan, affectionately known as "Dave," passed away on March 6, 2025, in San Diego, California, after bravely battling Stage 4 Carcinoma with his daughters Amy, Annie, Denise and nephew Jon by his side. Born on October 28, 1943, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Dave led a life full of joy, love, and remarkable accomplishments.

Dave dedicated many years of his life to his work as a truck driver for Wheaton Van Lines, where he earned the respect of his colleagues and peers. In addition, he was a well-respected entrepreneur in San Diego, showcasing his talents and commitment to excellence in every endeavor he pursued. His proudest accomplishment was being a dad, a role he cherished deeply and embraced with joy.

Dave found true happiness in spending time with his loved ones, especially during the holidays. These cherished moments were often filled with laughter and warmth, as he shared his life with his daughters—Denise Waters, Amy Nelmida, Andrea “Annie” Ausderan, and son-in-law Jay Nelmida-and his grandchildren, Cory Waters (Kristi) Zachery Waters, Dylan Denoncourt, Alyssa Nelmida, Jayden Tolliver, Bear Nelmida, Ace Nelmida, and great-grandson Coltin Waters, as well as, nephew Jon Cluchey and niece Nikki Gaukel. Memories of their time together will forever remain close to the hearts of those who knew him.

In his leisure time, Dave enjoyed many simple pleasures. He was an active member of Skyline Church, where he found solace and connection with his faith alongside his daughters and grandchildren. His interests extended to watching western movies, going on walks, spending time at the beach, and riding his beloved Harley. Those who knew him often spoke of his kind and welcoming nature, highlighting his generosity, charm, and sense of humor. Known for being a big flirt, his infectious personality brought a smile to the faces of everyone he met.

Dave also served in the Army for two years, demonstrating his commitment and dedication to his country. He leaves behind cherished memories shared with family, friends, and loved ones, as well as a legacy of kindness and joy.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Alma Hutchins, and step-father, Lloyd “Red” Hutchins, as well as his brothers Jack Ausderan, William “Bill” Ausderan, Thomas “Dago” Ausderan, Joseph “Joe” Hutchins, and his sisters Sandra “Sandy” Hutchins and Shelly Hutchins.

As we remember David Lee Ausderan, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. His spirit will continue to shine in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.

Celebration of Life- Saturday April 5, 2025 at 3pm at Imperial Beach near the pier. Please join us in sharing some special memories. Light refreshments will be served.
