We grieve, not as the world does who has no hope.
Psalms 91:5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor the arrows that fly by day!
1 Thessalonians 4:14-17 For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.
David Lloyd Bradfute was born on May 11th, 1988 to parents Brad and Darleen Bradfute. He was the baby of the family. He is survived by his Sister Regina, Sister Tamra, and Brother Brad. 5 Niece’s, 3 Nephews, 3 Great niece’s, 1 Great Nephew, another Great on the way, and his three children Hailey, Braelynn and Grayson.
David attended Granite Hills High School. He loved Christian Music and playing the drums. His most favorite songs on K-Love Radio over the last 6 months that he knew every word to & sang with his Sister Tamra in the car where, "You’ve Always Been" By: Unspoken and "There Is Power In The Name Of Jesus" By: Grace Larson, both beautiful Worship Songs.
As a child he loved playing Baseball and Hockey. He loved fishing, boating and tearing the drums up!! He loved his family & kids so very much! As an adult, he worked as part of #547 Carpenter’s Union. He also loved ministering to the homeless community. They told his Sister "He was a Man of God and helped us so much, witnessing to us, even in his own struggles". They told her how he would fast and pray for days and weeks trying to overcome his struggles. He will be dearly missed.
David told his Sister Tamra a few months ago that the Ancient Word's of God's Word were the only true Word's!!! Hang onto the Word of God and his promises.. He also told her on November 19th, 5 weeks before he passed away, the last time they shared hours together, to tell all his niece's, nephews, siblings and children that he prays for them all the time, he loves and misses them so much and constantly thinks about all of his children and family.
He told her that night, he had thought about how hard things would be especially for Hailey his oldest daughter, but to think about how beautiful Heaven will be and he would get to see his mother again and be with the Lord. He said "Mom is right there at the Gates of Heaven waiting for me with God". He knew he was going home to be with the Lord very soon and he was ready.
David knew he would be leaving us to be with the Lord soon and even told Tamra and Brad almost 7 months earlier. God had given him a vision of having 2 Mega sized Churches.. 1 in San Diego and 1 in L.A. on Skidrow! He fought to see that vision hopefully fulfilled.
David was suffering and in pain for months and was yearning to be set free and reunited with his Mother and the Lord in November of 2020. He knew without a shadow of a doubt the close, personal relationship he had the last 3 years with God. As clearly as he knew God's voice, he said Satan's voice was just as loud and clear! He fought Spiritual battles and refused to let Satan win his soul. He walked and talked very close to God daily. He fasted and prayed for weeks at a time trying to fight his struggles he thought he could fight alone, but God finally took him home and he is now in peace with our Heavenly Father.
He also told her the last night she saw him to tell his niece's and nephews "You better tell them to run far from anything that is not from God!!" That "They better run the opposite direction!!!" He was so matured in his walk with God. He knew Satan's deception all too well.
He left this World telling her about past things, saying "None of that matters" and had no ill feelings or unforgivenness in his heart towards anyone. He knew the importance of forgiveness and not holding onto anger and grudges in the end and is now at peace, pain free and free from his struggles and with the Lord.
He also sang her a beautiful song he wrote with several verses as he waived his right hand to the beat of the song like a Choir Director sitting in her car. The song was all about Heaven and how beautiful it'll be when he gets to Heaven. He knew where he was headed soon. This is the only peace we can all rest in as we try to cope and grieve this huge hole that's been left in our hearts, knowing if we Serve the Lord and have a personal relationship with God as David did, we too will be reunited with him in Eternity with our amazing Heavenly Father who is full of love, mercy, grace and forgiveness. Thank you Lord for your amazing grace!
Our peace comes from knowing without a shadow of a doubt that David is in Heaven! Knowing he had been Spiritually transformed in his last 3 years of his darkest days, we can find comfort and remember God's mercy, grace and forgiveness... we can find peace in knowing he's with the Lord.
We know that us who are Born Again imperfect Christians will be reunited with him in Heaven if we Serve the Lord! David’s mother told all her kids when she was sick "If you ever want to see me again, you better Serve the Lord!" And he did just that...
David took the long, hard way around to Surrendering to God, and sadly his life was shortened, but Satan did NOT win his soul or take him to hell in the end!!
His body full of pain that he was trapped in has now become flawless, without pain or struggles, free from bondages as he has been joined with his Heavenly Father in Heaven whom he yearned to see! He told his Sis, he knew God and his Mother were waiting right at the gates of Heavens Doors 5 weeks before!!
The family knows and prays that David's life and story, God will continue to use to change others lives of all who knew and loved him and many more as the years roll on. This is not the end of David's story! God will continue to use his life!
The Bradfute Family prays that you will allow God to use David's story and his life in you, so you too will be rejoined with him again in Heaven and our Heavenly Father in Eternity.
The Bradfute Family wants to thank you all again for all your love, support, donations and continued prayers through these incredibly difficult weeks, months and years to follow, FOREVER missing David.
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
King David wrote this Psalm during a difficult time of his life. Loneliness and fear and even death were before him. And yet this Psalm doesn’t focus on any of these.
You see, David had learned a few things about the Lord throughout his lifetime…
And this Psalm focuses on those lasting characteristics of our God
David focuses on the presence, the provision, and the protection that we find when we are traveling at the Lord’s side.
It’s a Psalm of assurance that when times are tough, and life becomes hard, we can leave things in the Shepherd’s hands, that we can trust him completely with our lives. It’s a Psalm of God’s ultimate promise— that He cares for us.
The Lord Jesus Christ is our shepherd. (John 10:11)
And why do we need Christ as our shepherd? Because as our shepherd He cares for us in ways that others cannot.
David gives us a picture of God in this Psalm. He shows us first of all that…
1. God cares for us in providing for our needs. We find this in verses 2 and 3 of Psalm 23. (Read) The picture here is of a shepherd who rises early in the morning, opens the gate to the pen, and leads his sheep from pasture to pasture.
He leads them first to the fields where the grass is long and course, then as the sun rises and the day gets hotter, the shepherd would lead his sheep to greener, more tender grass, which was beside the "quiet waters."
Here the sheep could lie down and rest through the heat of the day.
There is something calming about being beside the waters.
The apostle Paul, from a prison cell in Rome wrote about God’s provision in Philippians 4:19,
"My God will supply all of your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus."
It is God who supplies our needs…
In good times and bad.
Without Him in this world, our lives would be in turmoil. We would continually be searching for things to satisfy our hunger and thirst and our desires.
But as His sheep, Christ leads us into green pastures and beside quiet waters in the midst of our chaotic lives.
The Lord, who is our shepherd, supplies our needs. David goes on to paint a picture of God that shows us…
2. He cares for us by always being present with us.(Read verse 4)
Nobody wants to be alone in life.
We need the presence of family and friends to keep us going, because they provide comfort and warmth for our lives.
Most of us know how difficult it is to be there for someone all the time, even for those we love the most.
We may want to be there, but we have work obligations, deadlines to meet, and other people and commitments to meet.
Jesus as our shepherd gives us the promise that He is always present.
What David discovered about God is that He doesn’t take vacations, or lunch breaks; He is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
He is there to share our joys, and He is there to bring comfort to our lives in times of difficulty.
As the Bible promises, his presence is that "He will never leave us or forsake us." God is always present in our lives. David completes the picture of God for us by showing that…
3. God CARES for us through his protection. (Read verse 5)
All of us, at one time or another, experience difficulties that are hard to cope with.
In our world it is hard to avoid trials.
They are simply a part of our lives.
This is the kind of picture King David gives us of God in the 23 rd Psalm.
God is not a cold, unfeeling, lifeless being, but a warm loving being who cares for us, his sheep… And through his care, he would never steer us wrong. The Lord Jesus as our shepherd protects us.
Jesus said in John 10:14–15…
"I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— just as the Father knows me and I know the Father— and I lay down my life for the sheep."
In the 23 rd Psalm, David paints for us a picture of a merciful God, of Christ Himself as our shepherd— full of compassion, who knows his sheep, who cares for his sheep.
Requiem for the Living
My life, like yours my friends, and everyone’s for that matter, is a journey. What makes ours unique from everyone else’s is the privilege we’ve had to share the road for a good stretch of that journey. I think we travelled well together – sharing some laughter and tears, some hopes and fears, and dreams, some came true and others died – but travelling together has made the trip worthwhile. One thing we have learned is that real journeys are never confined to bright parades down Main Street, instead, they tend to wander through alleys and out country roads and, at times, into the wilderness and places of darkness
Recently, your journey led you through the Valley of the Shadow of Death. And though it was through David’s death, you walked the valley with him as if it was your own and perhaps at times you wished it was. You felt the chill of dark shadows on your face and the constant drizzle of tears that often became rivers you thought would never end.
The Valley of the Shadow of Death is not for sightseers. And yet, there are things to be found in the shadows that can’t be found anywhere else. Indeed, the darkness often holds more lessons about living than the light.
And, sometimes, it is in the bleakest void that God is nearest. I think you know this.
The Story of God shows us over and over again that darkness was often the setting for humanity’s closest encounters with God.
God appeared to Abraham, not in the day, but in the night - and promised him descendents more numerous than the stars.
- the Exodus from Egypt happened at night.
- God met Moses in the thick darkness of Mt Sinai.
- Paul’s conversion happened after he lost his sight
- Jesus was born beneath a star and resurrected in the darkness of a cave.
Darkness invites us in - to find and know God. If we turn away from it because we are afraid – there is a chance we may be turning away from God.
To embrace the journey, is to embrace its darkened roads and valleys. But embrace it we must, for the promise is that even in the Valley of the Shadow of Death – God is there. Reminding us that the darkness is but a shadow…and the light will come. For the road we travel is ultimately nothing less than a journey to the Father’s house.
And, someday, we shall all be home.
The journey of life, as this 23 rd Psalm reminds us, does not stop in the valley of death, but rather in the house of the Lord, in the presence of God where we find rest.
Today we pause for a brief moment to remember David’s life. In doing so we look to Jesus Christ who David knew and loved…
And we are reminded that we all can rest in the Shepherd’s arms, Rest knowing that we too can find hope when we put our trust in Jesus Christ as our Shepherd.
We can find rest in the promise that for all who know Christ as their Shepherd the journey of life finds fulfillment in the presence and promises of God.
May God open your heart this day to His promises and to His gift of Salvation and Eternal Life.
My encouragement to you all… Today, that you may find peace with God. Peace, knowing that he died for you and all of your past, present and future sins. He wants a personal relationship with you. Before you lay your head, on your pillow tonight, may you be reminded that you are loved by the Good Shepherd through the Valley of the shadow of death and into life.
We love you and miss you so much Dae Dae… every second of every day! You left a hole in all the hearts of those you loved and who loved you more than you will ever know!!! Until we are reunited, we know we have a new angel among us. We feel incomplete without you. We are not 3 Siblings, we are still 4 as you’ll never leave our hearts. Rest in peace Baby Brother.
