Obituary for David Lee Dennison

David Lee Dennison was born April 4, 1937 in Morgantown, West Virginia, first son to Woodrow and Betty Dennison. He met his life-long sweetheart, Janet Poland, in junior high school, later graduating together from Morgantown High School. Dave furthered his education at West Virginia University where he studied Mechanical Engineering for two and a half years. When Janet and her family moved to Tucson Arizona after high school, Dave drove cross-country with friends to spend Christmas with Janet. While in Tucson, Dave discovered the University of Arizona offered an excellent mechanical engineering program. He decided to move west. He registered at the University of Arizona, and two years later was offered a job at Krueger Manufacturing Company in the Architectural Designing Department.
Dave and Janet married February 15, 1958. Shortly after they married, he accepted a great opportunity representing Krueger products in San Diego. After a year working at the special service supply company, he decided to venture out on his own, and started Dave Dennison Company as a manufacturers’ representative for several companies. He worked diligently into his late 70’s, building his company. He was a respected businessman, and a brilliant investor. Not only did he build his business, but helped others to realize their dreams through financial support and by mentoring them.
Though Dave made a name for himself in the manufacturing industry, his greatest devotion was to his family. Dave and Jan started their family in Santee, and later purchased their home in El Cajon where their children, Jeff and Lara, grew up. Dave worked hard all week long, but dedicated himself to what was most important to him; to spend his spare time with his family. Weekends were spent with his family fishing, skiing, or camping in locations all across the state and beyond. Dave’s goal on family trips was to get from point A to B seeing the most sites, in the least amount of time.
David passed quietly in his sleep on January 6, 2015. He is survived by Janet his wife, his two children, Jeff and Lara, and his grandchildren, Tianna, Austin, David, Taylor, David and Mitchell, and one great grandson Cormac.
