Delores Irene Hansen

Delores Hansen Alcorn, 97, died August 29 at Covenant Living Care Center in San Diego, CA.  Dee was born February 8, 1926 in Duluth, MN to Walter and Ruth (Olson) Nelson.  She grew up near Ellsworth, WI and married Ernest G Hansen of Red Wing, MN on June 7, 1947.  They raised three children; Glen, Rita and Dale. In 1978 the family moved to Phoenix, AZ.  Eight years following her husband’s death, Dee married Robert Alcorn and traveled the country before moving to San Diego, CA.  

She was an active, lifetime member of the Swedish Covenant Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir.  Dee enjoyed sewing clothes, quilting, and making dolls and teddy bears for children.  Her gift to others included two published books of Christian poetry through which she shared her strong but gentle faith.      

Survivors include daughter Rita, son Dale, sister Alvina, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. 

Dee was proceeded in death by her parents, husband Ernest, granddaughter Eva-Marie, son Glen, husband Bob, brother Clifford, and sisters Virginia, Madelyn, Geneva, infant Margaret, Davney, Doreen, and Beverly, 

Her funeral will take place at Covenant Living on October 10 at 2pm.  Dee’s burial will take place at Bethel Covenant Church in Ellsworth, WI on September 23, 2023.
