Memories of Don
Don passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Saviour on August 31, 2019. He was born in Joliet, Illinois to Louise and Gabriel Muir. He was the youngest of five children. After high school, Don joined the navy and was stationed in San Diego. A good friend and fellow sailor, Bob Crist, shared the gospel with him. It was the first time Don had ever heard that his sins could be forgiven and he could be sure that he was going to heaven. In September of 1960, he accepted Christ as his Saviour and was soon baptized and received into the fellowship of the San Diego assembly.
He met Sharon Clark while she was vacationing in San Diego. They were married on May 28, 1966 in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario Canada, where they resided for thirteen years. Don and Sharon raised three children: Allyson, Yvonne, and Philip. The family relocated to San Diego in 1978. Don and Sharon continued living in San Diego enjoying fellowship in the assembly. Don was a wonderful husband and father and greatly loved each addition to his family over the years.
Don is survived by his wife Sharon Muir, daughter Allyson (Tom) Robertson, daughter Yvonne (Cameron) McCrindle, son Philip (Dawn) Muir, eight grandchildren; Jessica (Matthew) Vanderhart, Shaun (Alyson) Robertson, Melissa Robertson, Scott (Windy) Robertson, Bryan McCrindle, Brendan McCrindle, Lance Banderman, Brandon Adamson, eight great-grandchildren; Cade Vanderhart, Makayla Vanderhart, Ty Vanderhart, Wyatt Vanderhart, Peter Robertson, Ainsley Robertson, Mitchell Robertson, Marcus Robertson.
