Lifetime San Diegan Dorothy Osborn, or “Dot” as her friends called her, passed away Aug. 9th after a short illness. Dorothy was born in San Diego’s Mercy Hospital and lived most of her life in San Diego, favoring the East County.
She attended Hoover High School where she excelled in volleyball. She graduated in 1947. Dorothy was married to Gerald “Jerry” Osborn in 1948 and settled into the life of a mother and homemaker. She loved gardening, sewing, cooking, and shopping with her daughter Gail.
Dorothy had two children, Gail and Tom who also were born at Mercy and still reside in San Diego.
She had three grand children, Jessica, Taylor Ann, and Erik. Dot is also survived by her brother Ray Buttles.
