Duane Deverill passed away peacefully on October 2nd with his family by his side.
He is survived by his loving wife Debbe of 41 years, his sons Eric (Angie, his wife)
and Brian, his grandchildren Devin and Dustin, and his first wife Lillian.
Duane, aka Dev’s passion was real estate, having developed the original properties
that helped launch National University. Additionally he developed Valley Vista Estates
in East County and several other homes in San Diego and the Lake Tahoe area.
One of Dev’s most cherished memories was time with his Navy buddies during his
military service in the Korean war. He was a patriot to the core.
His family, friends and associates undoubtedly will never forget Dev’s positive nature,
indomitable spirit, brilliance in real estate, sharpness at poker and pool, dedication to
his family and community, and infectious smile. One friend called him the “energizer
bunny”, he just never stopped going until the very end.
The family wishes to thank his doctors and friends for their care and kindnesses as
he was able to enjoy his final years at his beautiful home in San Diego.
A private family celebration of life and dedication will be held at a future date.
