Our beautiful Evelyn, mom, tutuma, passed peacefully and painlessly into God’s arms on February 19,
2019. Beloved wife of 75 years to her knight in shining armor, Arthur, loving mother to Francine Poirier
(Mike), Grandmother to Brian and Ted Poirier (Heather), great grandmother to Ben and James Poirier,
aunt to eight cherished nieces and nephews, and friend to everyone she met. She enjoyed a long, full,
and happy life. Her favorite times were those spent with her family. She was happy in her work as a
secretary for a group of several field representatives for the Department of Defense who along with
their wives became lifelong friends. She loved to dance and undeniably had the best moves on the
dance floor and also later in her senior citizen dancercise classes. Her faith in God, Jesus, and Our
Blessed Mother were the foundation of her strength in navigating through the joys and heartaches of
our human condition. Her other rock was her husband, always there at her side, caring for her,
protecting her, and loving her unconditionally. Together they accepted the inevitable ups and downs of
life with strength and love. Even the deepest possible pain of losing their darling daughter Suzie at
three years old. “Love Conquers All Things”. The last of her 93 years left her small body severely bent
and twisted but her beautiful face still glowed whenever she could lift her head a bit and smiled at you.
She is now in heaven standing straight and tall as we remember her, and I think she’s dancing. Evelyn,
mom, tutuma, you are in our memories and hearts forever.
