Glen Dale Blackledge, fondly known as "Blackie," passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, in La Mesa, California. Born on March 20, 1938, in Los Angeles, California, Glen carved a remarkable life for himself, marked by dedication to his family, country, and evolving passions.

Glen served honorably in the United States Navy for over 20 years, rising to the rank of Chief. His military career not only showcased his strong work ethic and honesty but also instilled in him a sense of pride and responsibility that he carried into civilian life. Following his military service, Glen embraced his entrepreneurial spirit. In the same vein as his father, he ventured into various trades, including running a transmission shop that specialized in off-road races. His thirst for knowledge led him back to school, where he furthered his education by earning a degree in computers.

Despite his many accomplishments, Glen’s heart was most clearly found in his role as a father to his six children, whom he had during his service. He cherished every moment with them, always striving for their happiness. His favorite holiday was Christmas, a time when he expressed his love and joy through thoughtful gestures that truly illuminated the season for his family.

Glen is survived by his beloved children, Cindy and Lindy (Daughters), John Blackledge (Son), and a legacy marked by numerous grandchildren, including Christina Guillory, Amber Ahrens, Zachary Coogan, Carissa Myers, and James Otto. He is also cherished by many more grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and close friends who will remember him for his straightforward nature and hardworking demeanor, even as he could occasionally show his wry sense of humor.

Glen has been reunited with his beloved wife, Janet, and his daughters Wendy and Mindy, as well as his son Glen Jr., who have all preceded him in death. His memory will continue to resonate through the stories shared by those who loved him and the values he instilled in his family. Glen Dale Blackledge will be deeply missed but forever celebrated by those whose lives he touched.
