Eagye Jr., Gordon Maxwell

Longtime Point Loma resident Gordon Maxwell Eagye, Jr. was born July 15, 1931 in Pittsburgh, PA to Gordon and Elsie Sommerfeld Eagye. He passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on Saturday, November 7, 2015.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sandra Strickland Eagye, and four devoted children, Kathleen Eagye Dempsey, Christine Eagye Carlson, Suzanne Eagye Cox (Tim), Gordon Maxwell Eagye III and 10 grandchildren.

Gordon served 4 years in the Navy (Korean War) and later graduated from SDSU with a degree in Business. After a career as a CPA and medical administrator, he retired to pursue interests in golf and sailing. He was an active member of Point Loma Community Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder. His retirement activities included volunteering at the La Jolla VA Medical Center and Presbyterian Urban Ministries.

A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, November 13, at 2:00 pm at the Point Loma Community Church with a reception to follow.
