Gregorio Toves Mendiola

Gregorio Toves Mendiola, 88 years old, was called home on March 1, 2024. Born May 18, 1935, his life was marked by his unshakable faith in God, love for his darling wife of 27 years, Marion (Sue) Mendiola, his four children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as his pride in serving the U.S. Navy and his strong love for his Chamorro heritage.
In 1952, at 17 years old, Gregorio Toves Mendiola served in the U.S. Navy, dedicating 20 years. From Guam to Japan, Hawaii, and Washington, his commitment shaped his journey, and he excelled in the Naval Deep Sea Diving school.
Gregorio Toves Mendiola loved singing and playing music throughout his life. "Tiny Bubbles" and "Pearly Shells" were among his favorites.
May Gregorio Toves Mendiola's memory inspire and comfort those who knew him.
A viewing will be held on March 12th at Featheringill Mortuary from 4:00 pm-8:00 pm. His burial will take place at Miramar National Cemetery on May 17th at 1:00 pm (all attendees are requested to arrive at 12:30 pm).
