Greta Kay Ash (Williams)

Mrs. Greta Kay. Ash passed away Friday, January 27, 2017 at the Kaiser Permanente Zion Medical Center in San Diego, CA. Greta was born on June 30, 1937 at Santo Tomás Hospital in Panama City, Panama, the daughter of George and Estelle Williams. Greta was united in marriage to the handsome Leon Ash, Jr., in 1963. He preceded her in death on February 20, 1997. Greta and Leon were married for 34 wonderful years!

Greta worked for San Diego County for over 27 years until she retired. During this time she worked for the Edgemoore Hospital Laundry in Santee, CA, as a housekeeper. Prior to this time, she also worked as a domestic housekeeper. In 2004, Greta was diagnosed with breast cancer. Greta endured the rigors of a mastectomy and chemotherapy resulting in her becoming a Breast Cancer SURVIVOR!!

Greta is survived by her children and spouses; Toney (Tish) Ash, Cheryl Taitt, and Michael (Tiffany) Ash; 7 loving grandchildren, LaChandra Ash, Toni Ash, Joshua Ash, Rayven Ash, Ja’Leon Ash, Jo’Leona Ash, and Ja’yah Ash; 1 great-grandchild, Shaliyah Ash; 3 sisters-in-law, Sarah Lowery, Alzerita Ash-Dabney, and Hattie Mae McCurty; and a host of family and friends that have known the joy of her love throughout the years.
