Helen Vera Robinson Sitzman Obituary

Helen Vera Robinson Sitzman passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at the age of 84 with her family by her side in San Diego, CA.

Helen was born in Powell, WY on August 29, 1939, to parents Virgil Alphonse Robinson and Virginia Grace Swallow Robinson. Helen’s mother passed away when she was six years old. Her father remarried in 1946 and Helen was adopted by Mary “Louise” Williams. She lived in Denver and Fort Collins, CO, and her favorite city, San Diego, CA. 

Helen spent her career as an administrative professional working in Colorado for a defense contractor, the Department of Forestry, CPA Firm and then for Colorado State University.   She moved to San Diego in 1981 to reside with her sister Colleen and began working in the tax department for a law firm prior to moving to multiple other tax offices.

Helen loved ceramics, gardening, spending time with good friends, fabulous food, chatting for hours and laughter.

Helen is survived by her son Mark Sitzman and daughter Suzanne Sitzman-Ieler (Rick) of San Diego, CA; brother Charles Robinson (Karen) of Caldwell, ID; sister Colleen McCain (Jon) of Charleston, SC; granddaughter Elizabeth Sitzman, Loveland, CO; two great grandchildren and a great-great grandson. Her nephews, Jason Ankney of Charleston, SC; Guy Sitzman (Jacklyn) of Cuenca, Ecuador; Michael Robinson (Casey) of Ft. Collins, CO; and Charles Robison IV of Caldwell, ID.  Nieces’ Lorna Powell (Mack) of Sylva, NC; Kathy Svoboda (Jeff) of Hermosa, SD; Julie Brigham of Hermosa, SD; Kati Calhoun (Cliff) of Clinton, UT; and Mari Harris (Dan) of Caldwell, ID. 

Helen was preceded in death by her parents and twin sisters.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Featheringill Mortuary (6322 El Cajon Blvd., San Diego, CA 92115) with Chaplain Adrienne A. Aguirre Officiating.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Refreshments will be served immediately after the Memorial Service until 5 p.m.
