Jeanette R Nagel

Jeanette Nagel, 94, formerly of Rock Island, IL passed away peacefully on April 2, 2015 at Scripps Mercy Hospital, San Diego, CA. She was born on June 10, 1920 in East Moline, IL, the daughter of Alois and Anna DeDoncker De Vos. She married Willy Nagel on June 10, 1941. They raised six children in Rock Island, IL, and moved to El Cajon in 1978 to retire. Jeanette was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards, board games, travelling and celebrating with family and friends. She loved cheering on the Notre Dame Football team and attended her last game in South Bend at the age of 94. Jeanette was a member of Mission San Diego de Alcala, and the Ladies of Columbus.

She is survived by daughters, Donna Nagel Poway, CA; Mariann Nagel and Tari Nagel El Cajon, CA; son Larry Nagel Madison, WI (Maria); grandchildren Matthew Nagel and Katie Turpin-Nagel (Tyler) Minneapolis, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband Willy, her daughter Barbara Nagel Goethals; her son Bro. Gary Nagel CSV, her sisters Mary De Meyer and Martha Van Tieghem and brothers Fred Vermuelen and John De Vos.

Viewing will be Wed. April 8 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Featheringill Mortuary, 6322 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego. Funeral Thurs. April 9, 9:30 Mission San Diego de Alcala.
