Obituary for Jerry Lee Foster

Jerry Foster passed away on March 18, 2016 as a result of cancer.
A native San Diegan, Jerry was born in San Diego on June 4, 1934 at Mercy hospital to parents Dale and Elma Foster.

During his early years he lived in Coronado and San Ysidro .and graduated from Mar Vista High School in Sweetwater District in 1952. Jerry went on to San Diego State University and graduated with a major in Business and a minor in Economy from SDSU in 1956, where Jerry was a member of Sigma Pi fraternity. He met his wife, Beverly, at SDSU and they married after their graduation in 1956.

During Jerry’s long career in finance he worked at Ryan Aeronautical, General Dynamics and General Atomics. In 1980 Jerry changed career direction and went into real estate. He worked with Century 21 and later became the broker of record for Merrill Lynch Reality. He retired from real estate but was recruited back to serve for several years as Executive Director of the San Diego Board of Realtors.

Jerry was an avid traveler and wine collector. For 30 years he and Beverly made annual trips to wine growing regions in France, Germany, Italy, Sicily, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Greece, California, Oregon and Washington. If they grew wine Jerry wanted to visit!

Jerry leaves behind his wife of almost 60 years, Beverly Foster, daughter Amy Foster, Sister in Law Carolyn Meek and her husband Jere Meek of El Dorado Hills, CA.

A Celebration of Life will be held April 3, 2016, 3pm at Del Cerro Heights Clubhouse off Caminito Estralledo.
