Jim Walsh 12/12/36 - 4/12/22
Jim passed away on April 12th in La Jolla surrounded by his wife and daughters. His health declined after a heart attack in the fall of 2021 although he maintained his quirky sense of humor throughout. Jim is survived by his wife, Hualier Wang, and daughters Leslie Blow, Mary Walsh and Meg Walsh.
Jim was a California native raised up and down the coast from San Francisco to San Diego. He went to school at San Diego State in the 60's and started his career as an Engineer in the aerospace industry. He went on to receive an MBA at Cal Lutheran and spent the rest of his career managing healthcare manufacturing companies. He founded and managed an x-ray manufacturing company, Summit Industries, in Chicago from 1984 to 2016.
Jim raised 3 daughters in California and then the Chicago area but returned to the San Diego sunshine in 2014 with his wife and favorite dog "kid" Chocolate. He always felt most at home near the ocean and was an avid sports fan playing college football and basketball. He is remembered by family and friends as a bright, generous and thoughtful man who cared deeply about his work but never passed up an opportunity to make people laugh.
