CDR. John Thomas Larsen, USN (Ret.)
December 19, 1935 - February 21, 2016
Survived by Peggy (McAlerney) Larsen, Ann (Larsen) Quattrone, Rosemarie (Larsen) Hamilton and Timothy Larsen. He is also survived by his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Rosa Lee Larsen and his sister Mary Lou (Larsen ) Lovejoy.
John attended Bishop O’Dea High School in Seattle, Washington run by the Christian Brothers of Ireland. He received a degree in Chemical Engineering from Seattle Jesuit University and was commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy from Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island.
John served his country as a highly decorated Naval Officer from 1959-1985. During his retirement years, John enjoyed gardening, traveling, swimming and reading. John and Peggy are members of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
In life he was a strong and gentle presence. He showed kindness and patience to everyone he encountered. John will be missed, but to those who had the pleasure to know him - he will never be forgotten.
