Joshua Paul Schultz

Josh Schultz of Rancho San Diego has left the building. His spirit was released from his worn out shell of a body and is now exploring the universe. He is stress-free and at peace.

On March 31, 1975, his parents Christine Mondavy-Pilkington and Paul Schultz celebrated his birth and introduced him to the world as Joshua Paul Schultz. He was a skinny little runt of a guy weighing in at 5 pounds 15 ounces and spent his first few days in an incubator just trying to hold it together. He grew up a feisty and wiry go-getter, constantly in motion – he was recently in discussions with SDG&E in an attempt to capture his energy source.

He had some serious health problems the last few years, but survived them (up till now anyway) with the help of his wife Stacey, his mom Chris; his grandpa Paul, his little dog Zeppelin, and the multitude of friends and family that showed up regularly unannounced and uninvited.

Josh was preceded in death by his wisdom teeth, appendix and gallbladder. He is remembered by his family as a man who left a 43 year trail of laughter, generosity, compassion, and wisdom. He loved his Harley, electronics, gumballs, his dogs, his Harley, the desert, the beach, the mountains, his Harley – well, you get the picture. He was born a true pyromaniac. As a young boy he could be found melting his GI Joe figures in campfires or fireplaces and at the age of ten set the canyon behind his house on fire using a cigarette lighter and an aerosol can. The bonfires in his backyard were legendary. But his garage was his pride and joy where he could be found tinkering on whatever into the wee hours of the morning. And that place was immaculate - you could eat off the floor.

He left behind a hell of a lot of stuff that nobody knows what to do with. So if you’re looking for an old TV from the 90’s, an extra-large ceramic skull, animal crates, auto-parts in boxes – you should wait the appropriate amount of time and get in touch. Tomorrow would be fine.

Josh was highly proficient at cursing. He liked four-letter words just about as much as his four-wheel drive pick-up truck and a cold brew.

Cremation will take place at the family’s convenience and his ashes will be kept in an urn, passed from family member to family member until no one can remember what’s in the jar.

Josh leaves behind a bunch of people – his wife Stacey, son Cameron, daughter Brianna, mother Chris, father Paul, grandpa Paul, sister Danica – with due respect I won’t name them all, but he loved each and every one of you wholeheartedly.

As per his wishes, a “Praise Josh Party” - a celebration of his life - will be held following the services at Josh and Stacey’s home – if you are reading this, then you know the place. We would really like you to come and share some of your best memories of Josh at the “Praise Josh Party”.

Josh had a good life to look back upon and instructs those wanting to honor him to “remember me in your own way.” Raising a glass of your favorite beverage in his memory would be quite appropriate.
