Julie Ann Bras

Julie Ann Bras, 82, was called home to our Lord on Sept 3 at her home in La Mesa.
Julie was born October 9, 1935 in Oakland, CA to Francis and Eileen Piccardo, where she spent her early years growing up.
In 1957 Julie graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in Education. She then received her Secretarial Certificate from Armstrong College and worked for General Electric before marrying and raising a family.
Julie was a loving and devoted mother and wife who was active in the PTA and a deacon at Fletcher Hills Presbyterian Church where she also worked in their Crisis Center helping the homeless. She traveled extensively with husband Chuck around the world as a member of the Friendship Force of America. They had home stays in Japan,Thailand,South Africa, Turkey,England and several other European countries. They also hosted families from several of these countries. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and being part of a book club.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Charles Bras, her daughters Linda (Paul) Barber, Lisa Gorans, Laura (Randy) Kelley, grandchildren Jason, Troy, Jonathan, Emily, Ryan, Grace and Allison.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sept 12 at 11:00 at Fletcher Hills Presbyterian Church, El Cajon,CA
