Lonnie Dean Scales

Lonnie Scales passed away peacefully after a stroke and battle with kidney disease. He is proceeded in death by his mother, Betty Jean Roe; Step-Father Terry Hill; Father, Lyndon R. Scales; Brother, Michael Scales; Brother, Michael Hill
He is survived by his Step-Mother, Rebecca J. Scales; Brother, William F. Hill (Carol); Brother, Daniel L. Scales (Dora); daughter, Melissa A. Wai (Robert); Nieces, Katie Patton (Stephen), Jennifer Prior (Seth); Nephew, William Hill (Jessica) and Grandson, Kameron Dean Wai.
Born and raised in Denver, Colorado he made a name for himself as an Executive Chef in Denver, Las Vegas, California, Florida, Georgia, and Chattanooga, Tn. He was a compassionate leader both in and out of the kitchen, gaining the respect of colleagues and employees alike. He was an active member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church and utilized his time, knowledge, and resources to minister to people through food service.
After retirement he spent most of his time with his daughter and her husband, and his grandson while living in San Diego, Ca.
He was adored by many and will be greatly missed.
Funeral Services will be held on October 22, 2020 @ 11:30 am. at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego, California with full military honors.
