Lourdes Elisabeth Cunningham

Lourdes was born on July 7, 2006, dedicated to the Lord at College Avenue Baptist Church on August 30, 2009. At her request, she was baptized on June 17, 2018 at Pathways Community Church.

Lourdes was an avid animal lover. Over the years, we had cats, dogs, guinea pigs, a hamster, a gecko, and a few fish, but it wasn’t enough. Lourdes would find her own “pets” outside. She could catch lizards like the Crocodile Hunter and was fearless of anything that walked, crawled, slithered, or swam. Other interests included Lego, Minecraft, rollercoasters, reading, and collecting bottle caps. She loved going to Corvette Diner and Belmont Park.

During her early school years, Lourdes relished field trips and hands-on learning activities with friends from San Diego Christian Homeschools (SDCH) and later Classical Conversations (CC). She memorized hundreds of pieces of information to earn the Memory Master designation at CC and excelled in AWANA, receiving the coveted Sparky Award for completing three books in just one year. Later, she attended Foothills Christian Schools and Christian High. Favorite classes included art and photography.

Lourdes would do just about anything to spend time with her friends. Eventually, she expanded her social skills well beyond her peer group. She was fantastic with children and often volunteered to help in Sunday school. Other times, she would play bunco with seniors at the church. Anyone who has a pulse has a story, and you can bet Lourdes would want to hear it.

She passed away August 8th, 2024 and is survived by her father - Derek, mother - Sommer, and brother - Scott, as well as grandparents, aunts, uncles, and many cousins.

We trust she has found perfect peace in the arms of her loving Savior, Jesus. Christ.
