Lyn Ann Henderson

Lyn Ann Henderson, 67 passed away peacefully on February 20, 2024 at her sister's home in El Cajon, CA. She was born on June 19, 1956 to Bernard and Rosella Schmit of Gilbertville, IA. She earned a BA degree from Loras College in Dubuque, IA. Lyn worked in software support for 30 years and was a Principal Technical Support Engineer for PTC. She had a great love for her cats and volunteered with The Rescue House in San Diego for many years.

Lyn is survived by her sister, Parma Von Behren (husband David) of El Cajon, CA and brother, Donald Schmit of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Also surviving are nephew, Jeffrey Von Behren (wife Alison Alpert) of San Diego, CA, niece, Linnea McGaw (husband Kyle) of Chesterfield, VA and niece, Else Munsterteiger (husband Luke) of Sioux Center, IA. Preceding her in death are her parents Bernard and Rosella Schmit, sister Candace Schmit and brother Ronald Schmit.

Lyn was kind-hearted with a quick wit and generous spirit, and will be missed by her family and friends. Lyn often mentioned her gratitude for the life she lived and the wonderful friends in her life. Though we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the remarkable life she led and the countless ways she enriched the lived of those who knew her.

The family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to The Rescue House in San Diego which serves the cats she loved so much.
