Mary T. Dean

Mary Theresa Dean (nee Corey) passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 18, 2015 from complications related to congestive heart failure. She was 87 years old. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Herbert J. Dean, Captain, USN, retired; her son, Herb Dean of Anaheim, CA; her daughter, Mary Dean Hall of Kinsport, TN; six grandchildren: Joseph, Tyler and Nicholas Dean, and Corey, Mary Elizabeth and Katie Hall; her sister Carol Ann (husband Anthony) Padvaiskas of Methuen, MA, and many nieces and nephews.

A native of Lawrence, MA, Mary graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Lawrence, received a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Emmanuel College in Boston, MA, and a master’s degree in Education from Suffolk Law School, also in Boston.

After many Navy moves throughout their lives together, Mary and Herb put down roots in San Diego where they lived since 1971. They were active members of their parish, Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, since that time as well.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of grace on October 23, 2015 at 10:00am.
