Michael Brown, a devoted Dad and Grandpa, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2024. Born in Mexicali, Mexico on September 15, 1949, Mike—as he was commonly known—lived a life devoted to his family and community. Known for his warmth, kindness, and humor, he had a unique way of making everyone feel welcomed and loved. Mike leaves behind a cherished family who will remember him fondly. His son, Christopher, and daughter-in-law Jennifer, along with his son, Jamie, and daughter-in-law Laura, will carry forward his legacy. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jordan, Jamieson, and Hudson, who will always hold dear memories of their beloved grandfather. Mike’s beloved companion, Erika, filled him with joy and companionship. He was also the proud owner to his feline friend, Babygirl, added comfort and happiness to his days. Mike’s love and dedication will live on in the hearts of his family and friends who knew him.

Mike served in the Army for three years, a period that shaped him into the honorable man he became. His military service was a source of pride for him and left an indelible mark on his life. After returning from service, he channeled this dedication into a successful career as a civil engineer, applying his skills and passion to projects that significantly enhanced his community's infrastructure and left a lasting impact on the lives of many.

Outside of his professional and military endeavors, Mike enjoyed a diverse range of hobbies that brought him joy. He loved playing the drums, often shared his fond memories of his rock band: The Lost Children. A true aficionado of classic rock, he found happiness in the timeless music that defined generations, frequently sharing his favorite songs with family and friends. Mike also enjoyed playing golf which got his sons into the game. He was an avid NASCAR fan, often cheering for his favorite drivers. He had a passion for good food that was equally vibrant; he delighted in preparing memorable meals that brought everyone together.

Mike is also survived by his siblings, Kenneth, Richard, and Janeen. He was preceded in death by his parents Arlie and Rodona, and his brother Wesley.

In honor of Mike's life, a Celebration of Life will be held on November 16, 2024, at 1pm at Elks Lodge #168, where Mike was a member. The lodge is located at 7430 Jackson Dr. San Diego, CA 92119.
