Obituary for Michael Allen D'Ambrosia

Michael “Mike” Allen D’Ambrosia

On the afternoon of June 26 th , 2016, our beloved Michael left us after a year struggle with cancer. Mike was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing in his home in Spring Valley, CA. Mike was 58 years old. He was born to Daniel and Barbara D’Ambrosia on December 24 th , 1958 in National City, CA.

Michael was the 5 th of 5 children. Michael is survived by his wife, Charlotte (Char) D’Ambrosia, son Robert Mael, daughter Tera Whitcomb, grandson Tyler Mael, mother Barbara D’Ambrosia, Brothers - Art Breen, Robert Breen, Daniel D’Ambrosia and Sister Cindy D’Ambrosia.

A man of many talents, Mike was a carpenter, race car driver and off road enthusiast. Blessed with an ability to create and an imagination that had no boundaries, Mike left many “gifts” for his family and friends. One such gift can be seen at the Veterans Museum in Balboa Park, CA. Along with his father, Mike and others constructed a replica ¾ scale 1850’s Civil War cannon with no modern tools used.

Our hearts go out to all those who knew Mike. He was a special soul and a friend to all he came in contact with. Mikes love for life and adventure were overwhelming and his happiness was contagious. He brought us immense joy. His life stories will be passed down to his grandson, nieces and nephews around the campfire, just as many of you heard them. We will laugh and we will cry. We will all miss him!

To honor Michael’s wishes we will enjoy a Celebration of Life event that will include 2 destinations, the Colorado River in Yuma Az. July 9 th 2016, and a night run to Patton at Gordon’s Well, El Centro CA in October

On Saturday, July 23rd, 2016 we will pay tribute to Mike at his family home at 2774 Helix St., Spring Valley, CA 91977 between the hours of 1 and 6 pm. Please come and share.

The family especially wishes to thank the Kaiser Hospice program along with Featheringill Mortuary for the care and support we have received during this difficult time.
