Molly Jean Featheringill

MollyJean Featheringill was born in San Diego in 1923. She and her brother, Wally, spent many summers at their family mountain cabin in Descanso. Horseback riding in Descanso helped MollyJean develop her passion for the out-of-doors.
In 1946 she completed her degree in Zoology from UCLA. She married Melville Aubery and together they raised a daughter and son. During this time she was a Camp Fire Girl and Cub Scout leader.
Throughout her life she volunteered with many organizations, such as Friends of the Descanso Library and the Cuyamaca State Park Interpretive Association.
She is survived by her daughter and son, 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of MollyJean’s life will be held in October, with the date and location to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the San Diego Zoo Global or the Friends of the Descanso Library.
