Norman Charles Coupland was born in Chicago, Illinois on 6/28/1939 by Dovie & Lester B. Coupland, the 3rd son of 4~Benton, Paul, Norman and John. He moved with the family at age 12 to California and attended Calvary Baptist Church, and later Monrovia High School and Citrus College. He loved driving and racing his '57 Chevy, and was in the Ski Club, traveling abroad to Switzerland and Austria, before getting married in August 1964. He was in the National Guard Reserves with his older brother, Paul. He worked in the retail industry as a Supervisor for Luckys, Inc. (Food Basket and Gemco in El Cajon, CA) for over 15 years. He moved back to Monrovia to care for his mother after his dad passed in 1985, and moved back to San Diego (Santee) in 2008 to be close to his daughter, son, and granddaughter (Norma, Timothy, and Stephanie), and enjoy his two great grandchildren beginning 2013. He was diagnosed with Dementia and after wonderful care with Sharp Rees-Stealy, HomeInstead and Stellar Care, he succumbed to his disease to be with the Lord February 24, 2016. He will be missed by our Coupland family and extended family, friends from Monrovia, California, Florida, Nevada, North Carolina and Colorado.
