On Wednesday September 23, 2020, Patricia Meguera Alves (McLaughlin), life partner, mother, and grandmother, left this earthly plain at the age of 67. Her death was preceded by her parents, Florence Elizabeth Hall and Owen Louis McLaughlin, three brothers, and her second husband Thomas Edward Alves. She is survived by her life partner of 42 years Alan J. Miller, daughter Kristi Alves-Hiscock, son in law Jeff Hiscock, two grandchildren (Cassandra Hiscock-Grace, and Austin Hiscock), as well as her sister Cheri Boyd. Her extended family was enormous, and impossible to list, though they were all deeply loved by her.
Patricia was a beloved life partner, mother, and grandmother. Her laugh and wit were infectious to any and all who knew her. One of her greatest passions was providing quality health care professionally, in her many decades of working in the medical industry. She was a fierce Irish woman with distinct convictions, that could not be altered, which shined through in her absolute dedication to her family and friends. Her passing will be felt by so many lives she touched and left an indelible mark on. This loss is felt immensely amongst her immediate family. Her sudden passing has left us with a massive piece of our hearts missing.
Her primary service will be held at a later time to be determined, in a intimate family only ceremony at sea per her request.
