Patricia Julia Bennett
September 15, 1924 – July 23, 2023

Lemon Grove, California-

Patricia (Pat) Bennett transitioned peacefully into eternal life on July 23rd and thanks to the promises of Jesus Christ (Acts 16:31) is with our Heavenly Father.  Pat was born and raised on the south side of Chicago, IL., attended Parker High where she met and married the love of her life Ray Bennett (RIP 2004).

After having two children, Raymond (RIP 1969) and Geraldine (Demaris). They moved to Burbank, Los Angeles in 1954, had three girls; Mary (Murphy), Maureen (Moe Tatum), and Kathleen (Pernicano) and finally settled in El Cajon California in 1960, where they had two more sons; Daniel and James (Jay).

At an El Cajon council meeting, Mayor Mark Lewis presented Pat and Ray with a Commendation for 61 years of marriage.

Pat had 12 Grandchildren: Raymond, Jason, Bridget, Mary Kate (RIP 1986), Brianna, Shauna, Michael, Megan, Melanie, Ryan, Callia, and Brendan and 9 Great Grandchildren: Aiden, Logan, Brooklyn, NeeCee, Garrett, Daisy, Wylde, Declan, and Esther.

Pat was the receptionist and book keeper at Casa Grande Veterinary in El Cajon for 21 years, and before that was a switchboard operator at a few places including the Burbank Airport.  She loved to tap dance in her younger years.
She was a sports fanatic, the number one Cubbies fan who loved Sammy Sosa and then watching that good looking quarterback, Tom Brady became hopelessly devoted to him.  We often teased and referred to her as Tom Brady’s fiancée.  The 80 for Brady girls had nothing on Pat!

After the passing of her husband, Pat moved to the Lexington senior apartments where she gained many new friends.  She was affectionately referred to as “Mother Superior” when she called bingo because of her no-nonsense demeanor.
At 98 years old she was still as sharp as a tack and could joke with the best of them.  Pat was surrounded by so much love and caring from her family and friends all the way up to the end, and the outpouring of love from her friends has been overwhelming and comforting to say the least.

A special thank you to Patricia’s doctor, Daniel Hoefer, the Sharp hospice team - Hadie, Maricela (aka Sluggo) , and Gabriel.  Father Pat Mulcahy, and Terry Norman for the constant love and care you gave to mom for the past 11 years.
Pat- Patricia- Mom- Grandma- Great Grandma- and Auntie Pat will be greatly missed!
