Tish Weamer was born on September 12, 1959 to George and Mary Ann Johnson in Quincy, Massachusetts. She was born just a year after older brother George Johnson, Jr. and four years before sister, Pamela Johnson Thomas. Her mother remembers she was quick to walk and talk! She was a delightful child whose teachers claimed she was a fast learner and very focused. During her childhood, she was an active maker. She loved macrame, candlemaking, batik, and beading.
Tish graduated from Coronado High School in 1977. She attended the Univesity of San Diego and graduated in 1982 with a B.S in Behavioral Science. Her education catapulted her into marketing careers with Digivision and Systech. She especially enjoyed the work trips to Europe and China. During her 20's, she lived with a roommate in Pacific Beach and La Jolla. They loved to entertain in their little rental house.
Ray Weamer proposed to Tish and they married in May of 1986. Family and friends witnessed the wedding at the Coronado Episcopal Church and celebrated with a lovely party at the Hotel Del. 1n 1995, Ray and Tish moved to Franktown, Colorado where he pursued a career in commercial real estate/ finance. They enjoyed exploring Colorado.
In 1997 Tish and Ray were blessed with baby Mary. Tish loved motherhood and made it her fulltime career. The new family yearned to be closer to family and moved back to San Diego in 1998. Tish was also a wonderful aunt to Margaret and Casey. The three cousins remember many fun sleepovers where Tish planned scavenger hunts and talent shows.
Friends and family will all agree that Tish was full of vibrant energy and unconditional love. She had an extraordinary ability to make everyone around her feel special. She loved to entertain both big and small groups. She loved every aspect of party planning from creating the menu to setting a beautiful table. Everyone enjoyed her joyful spirit and the care that she put into every aspect of the event.
Tish was blessed with a wondeful group of friends. They met frequently to share lunch and an art project. They especially loved helping one another develop their skills. Just look at what they created: totems, mixed media collages, upcycled clothing, succulent sculptures, salt shaker tassels, and art journals! While making art, they also made a rich friendship based on mutual respect and love. They were truly weavers of each other's cloth. These women became an incredible support for Tish during her fight against cancer.
Tish is survived by her mother, Mary Ann Johnson and her siblings, George Johnson and Pamela Thomas. She is survived by her husband, Ray Weamer, daughter Mary Schindler, son-in-law Stephen Schindler and three grandchildren: McKynlee, Liam and Halston.
Now Tish is at rest with God, her memory will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
