Paul Harrington died suddenly at his home in El Cajon, CA on September 15, 2021. He was the fifth of six children of the late John and Edna (Sheehan) Harrington of Dorchester, MA. Paul attended Saint Brendan’s Grammar School and Boston Technical High School, graduating in 1975. He was a member of the Painters and Allied Trades union in Boston. In the early 1990s, Paul moved to Southern California with friends. While working, he went on to receive an Associate’s Degree from Grossmont College in El Cajon, and a B.A. in Communications at San Diego State University. He was a lifelong learner, an avid reader, and he continued to take classes at area colleges. He was fond of classic cars and preferred fixing an older car to purchasing a new one. Paul worked as a gate attendant at Rancho Palo Verde, Alpine, CA, for thirty years, right up to the
time of his death. He leaves behind his long-time friend and partner, Norma Armstrong, his brothers John, Richard, Robert, and Mark Harrington and his sister Cheryl McCarren, 11 nieces and nephews, 11 great-nieces and great-nephews and numerous cousins. We will miss Paul and we will celebrate his life with family and friends in Boston. We appreciate the out-pouring of love from his Rancho Palo Verde friends and community, and encourage them and others to toast his life wherever they are.
