Paul David Thierolf

Paul David Thierolf was born Feb. 21, 1954 in Norfolk, NE to Paul A. Thierolf and Eileen Basta-Thierof.
He passed away on July 3, 2017 in San Diego, CA at the age of 63. Services will be held Thursday, July 13, 2017 in San Diego.

David was raised in Niobrara, NE where he graduated from high school. He left many friends to join the Army in 1974. He rose quickly through the ranks; Army Airborne, Ranger and the elite Delta Force. He went on numerous missions to Central America and the Middle East and was honorably discharged in 1985 due to health reasons.

In 1994 he married the love of his life, Lynn Larabee. They resided in Ramona, CA until his death. Dave has one daughter, Kelsey Custer Curl. He was blessed to have her live near him the last 5 years.

Dave was very active in the Blinded Veterans Assoc. where he held many offices as well as Pres. For a number of years. He was dedicated to organizing Christmas parties for the Vets with special gifts for each one.

Dave was an avid Husker fan and his hometown of Niobrara was dear to his heart. In his many trips to the VA he could be seen wearing his favorite sweatshirt; “Niobrara: Where my story begins.”

Left to remember him are his wife, Lynn of Ramona, CA, daughter Kelsey (Brenden) Curl of Pt. Loma, CA, stepsons Chris and Cameron Larabee, father-in-law Darrel Basta, sister Susan Varilch of Le Claire, IA, brothers-in-law Greg (Theresa) Basta, Kerry (Leanna) Basta and nephews, nieces and cousins.
