Raymond Phillip Waligorski passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024 after battling Alzheimer’s. Ray was born on May 13, 1940 in Baltimore, Maryland to Valeria Prentki (1903-1955, also known as Viola Agnas) and Anthony Joseph Waligorski (1901-1957). He outlived his two brothers, Anthony Joseph Waligorski (1931-1997) and Richard Stanley Waligorski (1938-2006). He was married to Marjorie Ann Forbes from 1967 – 2005 and married Natalya Anatolyevna Yurchenko in 2007. He is survived by his daughters Laura Waligorski and Anna Bailon, his two grandchildren Ryan Bailon and Kate Bailon, his son-in-law Joel Bailon, his niece Victoria Galczynski, his two nephews Richard Waligorski and David Waligorski as well as numerous cousins.
He graduated from University of Baltimore with a bachelor’s degree in engineering. In the 1960’s he moved to San Diego, California and continued his education earning master’s degrees in engineering and accounting from San Diego State University. After a career of working at prominent San Diego companies such as General Dynamics and The Hotel Del, in the 1980’s he began working for himself full time in property management. Besides spending time with his family and friends, Ray had a passion for tailgating at San Diego Charger games, playing volleyball in South Mission Beach and enjoying San Diego’s fine dining establishments. Ray was bright and had an energetic personality known for his quick wit and smart business sense.
A graveside service will take place on Friday, September 13th at 1 pm at the Holy Cross Cemetery located at 4470 Hilltop Drive, San Diego, CA 92102.
