Ricardo Castro

Ricardo "Richard" Castro, born on August 28, 1941 in Solana Beach, California, to the late Celestina Castro and the late Domingo Castro, passed away at age 77 on March 8, 2019 at the VA Hospital in San Diego, California. Ricardo served in the Air Force in the Vietnam War and he also dedicated his career to being a carpenter until he retired in 2008. He then devoted much time to his cactus garden; which he dearly enjoyed. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary Castro and preceded in death by his first wife Linda Castro. He was also preceded in death by his son, Richard "Mejo" Castro; and brothers, Robert and Tico Castro. Ricardo is survived by his daughters, Yvette Castro and Yvonne Hoss; stepson, Shawn Cooper; and sisters, Barbara Amador and Liz Montes. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Friends and family members may attend the celebration of life, officiated by Father Howard, on Saturday, April 27 at 1:00 p.m. at St James Catholic Church, 625 S Nardo Ave, Solana Beach.
