Ricardo Roche Rodriguez (Richard), age 95, of Jamul, California, passed away
peacefully at home on June 2, 2024 with his loving daughter Angel by his side.
Richard was born on February 26, 1929, to Francisco and Rosaura Rodriguez
in Round Rock, Texas. He was the fourth of six siblings—three brothers and
three sisters—all but his youngest sister Roberta have preceded him in death.
Richard served with Company A, 224th Regiment, 40th Infantry Division, U.S.
Army in Korea in 1951. Upon separation from active duty he returned to Texas
where he met his future wife Olga.
Richard married Olga Trevino of Corpus Christi, Texas on December 6, 1953
where they lived for six years before moving to California.
Richard and Olga had three daughters and six sons and spent 30 years of their
lives together in Fremont, California raising their family. Richard worked for
the U. S. Naval Department in Alameda, California before he took his final
post at Coronado Island in San Diego, California.
Richard was married to his beloved Olga for sixty-six years until her death in
2019. He was a loyal and generous son, husband, father, grandfather,
great-grandfather, sibling, uncle, and friend.
Richard's time in the Army and later working for the Naval Dept. introduced
him to traveling the world where he experienced diverse cultures and new
landscapes. Alongside Olga, his constant companion in exploration, Richard
embarked on numerous road trips across the United States. Their travels were
not confined to domestic borders; they ventured abroad frequently, embracing
the opportunity to immerse themselves in foreign lands and discover new
perspectives. From bustling metropolises to serene natural wonders, Richard
and Olga's travel became a cornerstone of their relationship, fostering many
great memories and expanding their horizons.
Richard is survived by daughters Veronica Calderon and Angel Siscon, sons
Richard Rodriguez, Gabriel Rodriguez, Francisco Rodriguez, Samuel
Rodriguez, and Jonathan Rodriguez and seventeen grandchildren and twenty
