Obituary for Rolfe Paul Cuthbertson

Capt. Rolfe as he was known as, loved the ocean and traveled the world. He had over 40 years of experience as a Master, Mate and Ship Pilot with 30 of those years spent at sea. He made over 130 Panama Canal
crossings throughout his career including taking command as a Pilot of ships and barges with over 3,000 tug assists. Rolfe was licensed by the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a Master of uninspected vessels, First Class Pilot, Radar Observer, and an FCC Marine Operator.

Rolfe is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Gloria, Son Steve ( Miriam and Daniel), Daughter Stephanie (Sergio) Fortuna and his 2 Grandchildren Massimo and Christian Fortuna, Sister Betty Murphy Napa CA, Brother Dan Higgins Salt Lake City, UT, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother Lloyd Cuthbertson.

A celebration of life will be held of Tuesday, March 15th at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church at 11:00 am with a small reception afterwards in Barry Hall.

He will be laid to rest in Truckee, CA at a later date.
