RUTH EMILY (PARSON’S) NEWHOUSE was born on December 22nd 1926 in Alhambra, California to William James Parson, from Canada, and Emily Kitchel McIntire, from Sacramento. Her father worked in the citrus industry and she grew up in Alta Loma and then Hollywood, California graduating from Hollywood High School in 1944. Ruth became a Christian at age 12.
Ruth received her bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from UCLA. She went on to marry Robert James Newhouse on August 12th 1949 and they lived in Glendale and then Bishop, California for many happy years.
She loved camping, hiking, fishing, exploring and travel of all sorts. She volunteered in many areas at Calvary Baptist Church & school in Bishop. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother John Howard Parsons, her sister Charlotte Slater Parsons and her husband Robert in 1994.
Ruth lived the last 15 years of her life at Mt. Miguel Covenant Village in Spring Valley, California. Ruth was a kind, philanthropic Christian woman who invested her life in others and to the spreading of the Gospel. She was a humble woman and a dear friend to many. A true inspiration of a life well lived!
Services will be Saturday November 8th at Mt. Miguel Chapel at 2:30 pm, 325 Kempton Street, Spring Valley, Ca. 91977 and additionally at Calvary Baptist Church on Saturday November 22nd, 1100 West Line Street, Bishop, California, 93514.
